In the Blue Fairy Book you will find a set of 37 illustrated Fairy Tales collected and edited by Andrew Lang who was Britain’s answer to the Grimm brothers. Within you will find perennial favourites like
- Hansel And Grettel,
- Little Red Riding Hood,
- Sleeping Beauty,
- Beauty And The Beast,
- Cinderella,
- Aladdin And The Wonderful Lamp
and many more.
You will also find some of the tales are less well-known, even so, they are equally fascinating and entertaining all the same.
As to whether there are really any fairies or not, is a difficult question to answer. The Editor never saw any himself, but he knew several people who have seen them-in the Scottish Highlands – and heard their music. So, if ever you are ever near Nether Lochaber (16km/10m south west of Fort William), be sure to go to the Fairy Hill, and you may hear the music yourself, as grown-up people have often done. The only stipulation is that you must go on a fine day, but remember this poem as the little folk may ask you to recite it to gain entry to their magical kingdom.

And here’s the Blue Book just for YOU!
Hard is the path from A to Z,
And puzzling to a curly head,
Yet leads to Books—Green, Yellow and Red.
For every child should understand
That letters from the first were planned

For by that learning shall you get
To lands where Fairies may be met.
And going where this pathway goes,
You too, at last, may find, who knows?

Jack Delany Chronicles 6 bookset Black Friday Special
From the pen of TERRY HAYWARD, himself a retired criminal attorney who practised law in South Africa during the apartheid years. An avid wildlife conservationist, Terry has fictionalised a number of his most notorious cases and has linked them to the blight of poaching sweeping the continent of Africa. The result is almost 2,000 pages of non-stop action, adventure, drama and mystery from crowded high-rise cities to the rural remoteness of the African bushveld.
In the latest work in the series, THE HANGING TREE, sees lawyer Jack Delaney, and his six-foot-seven Zulu sidekick Moses Dlamini (pronounced Shla-mee-nee), known as the Refrigerator, called in to investigate a kidnapping, in reality a lever to bribe the owners of a game reserve to sell. In turn, it becomes the catalyst in a host of actions and re-actions leading to unexpected alliances, coupled with violence, murder and confrontations with law – not to mention lions, elephants and crocodiles in the wild.
Terry has always been perturbed that most books that end up becoming best-sellers nowadays seem to be judged by the amount of foul language and sexual activity which can be incorporated into the story. The Jack Delaney chronicles are his contribution to writing a really good yarn without having to resort to such ruses.
There is one more book in the series still in the pipeline which Terry hopes to get to Abela Publishing within the next month or so.
10% of the Authors royalty will be donated to WILDLIFE ACT, a conservation charity in KZN (KwaZulu-Natal), South Africa.

HEAR FROM THE HEROES of WWI THIS REMEMBRANCE DAY
As most of you know, this November is the centenary of WWI. It is only right that we remember the circa 10 million soldiers, from both sides of the barbed wire, who perished during this conflict; not forgetting the 6 million civilians who also died during The Great War.
In remembrance of WWI we have published 3 books, 1 book of poetry by the most prominent English poets of the day and 2 books by Louis Raemakers.
33% of the net profit from the sale of these books will be donated to the ROYAL BRITISH LEGION.
Louis Raemaekers
A bit of history about Louis Raemakers – whom many of you have probably never heard of. Raemakers was a Dutch cartoonist who drew cartoons for newspapers during the war. His cartoons were so effective, and to the point, that the Germans stated “When we win the war, Raemakers will be tried as War Criminal” or words to that effect. The German High Command even placed a 12,000 guilder reward, $250,000 in today’s money, for his capture, dead or alive (proving words and images can be as effective as bullets, bombs and shells.) This forced Raemakers to flee to England. The first two books in the series are displayed in our November newsletter (link below) with the third to be published in the next few weeks. Samples of the cartoons can be found on each book’s pages.
